To facilitate watermain work, water will be shut off from 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26 to 7:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27 on Elizabeth Avenue (between Anderson Avenue and Freshwater Road). Those impacted by the water shut off have already been notified.
Properties in the area may experience loss of water, low pressure or discoloured water. If you experience discoloured water, run the cold water tap in a sink until it clears. If discoloured water
persists, contact Access St. John's by calling 311 or 709-754-CITY (2489). The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

A detour will be in place, redirecting traffic through Howlett Avenue and Anderson Avenue. Flag persons will be on site to direct traffic. This detour is expected to remain until November 2024.

Access will be maintained for local businesses. The detour will redirect traffic through Howlett Avenue, Anderson Avenue, Guy Street, and Whiteway Street. Flag persons will be on site to direct traffic. This detour is expected to remain until November 2024.

Flag persons will be on site directing traffic. Motorists should anticipate delays and use alternate routes where possible. Power will be restored by 7 p.m.

Starting May 6, construction crews will resume street rehabilitation and the installation of a shared-use path on Elizabeth Ave. Upgrades from Bonaventure Avenue to Westerland Road were mostly completed in 2023 with the remaining works in this street section to be completed in early Summer 2024.
Construction for 2024 will include the section from Westerland Road to Freshwater Road.

Elizabeth Ave from Rodney Street to Allandale/Bonaventure Avenue has reopened to traffic.
A detour will be in place to direct traffic along Whiteway Street and Rodney Street, or Allandale Rd, Prince Philip Dr and Westerland Rd. Local traffic will not be able to turn left onto Elizabeth Ave from Westerland Rd.
Signage will be in place and flag persons will be on site. Motorists may experience delays and are encouraged to use an alternate route if possible.
