What is the 2024 Bridge Rehabilitation Program - Allandale Road/Rennie's River Bridge project?

    The project is a Municipal-Provincial cost-shared project involving reinforced concrete rehabilitation work for Allandale Road Rennie's River Bridge. The existing bridge deterioration will be repaired and rehabilitated to extend the service life of the structure.

    Is this work connected to the Long Pond Flow Control Structure and Flood Mitigation project?

    This work has no connection to the Long Pond Flow Control Structure and Flood Mitigation project. The existing bridge requires repairs and rehabilitation in order to extend the service life of the structure. 

    What is the anticipated schedule and duration of this project?

    Construction is anticipated to begin in June 2024 and be completed by October 2024. 

    Will traffic be impacted?

    Due to the nature of the work, lane reductions and traffic diversions will be required. Access for vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be maintained, with a minimum of one lane in each direction across the bridge. Traffic delays and slowdowns are to be expected, and the travelling public are advised to seek an alternate route if possible.
