The Pedestrian Walk as Our City Centre in the Summer AND Winter

The Pedestrian Walk is essential to St. John's as a place for tourists, communities, artists, vendors, performers, and businesses to congregate. It also discourages traffic which pollutes the ambience and the surrounding area with exhaust and noise. It is unnecessary and sends a wrong message to what we value as a city.
I think the Pedestrian Walk should be open year-round. We should be embracing the winter by using the Pedestrian Walk to host Winter festivities (like Montreal does with having outdoor music festivals in February) and enabling businesses in the downtown core to be creative with that valuable space. St. John's does not need to be solely a summer destination if we use the core to celebrate the winter.
