Is the City removing the existing structure?
An engineering assessment has determined the structure is unsafe. The City has erected signage saying the slipway is closed at this time. There is no timeline for removal yet. The City in interested in exploring alternative water access in this location.
How much would it cost to replace the structure?
It is estimated at $750,000 to remove the existing slipway and replace it with a new slipway.
What does the City want to put there to replace the slipway?

Where will people launch their boats if this slipway is closed?
The slipway to be removed is the wooden one on the north side of the harbour next to Cadet Rd. This is not a launching slipway. The slipway people use to launch boats is between the Wharf on the south side of the Artisan Studios and the Wharves at Quidi Vidi. This is a public access area.
