H.G.R. Mews Community Centre - Project Update

The new H.G.R. Mews Community Centre is getting closer to completion. During the Commissioning Phase of the project, which started in late September, the Contractor had some issues with equipment delivered to the site from the manufacturer. Unfortunately, we ended up with faulty equipment and as a result we have encountered a delay in the project. We are pleased to report that the new equipment has arrived on site and the Contractor is now able to continue outstanding Mechanical Commissioning required for the building and the pool. While this work is on-going, the Contractor is working concurrently on addressing deficiency items and ramping up for a final cleaning of the building.

Recreation staff are working on their move transition plan from the olds Mews to the new Mews and finalizing details on programming for Winter 2025.

We anticipate that the new Mews will be opening early in 2025 to the public. Please stay tuned to our social media feeds and the Engage for further information regarding the public opening of the facility. We can't wait to welcome you to this new and beautifully designed building!!!
