H.G.R. Mews Community Centre - Project Update

As we approach the end of August and get ready for the Labour Day Weekend and Back to School, we are getting closer to the completion of the new Community Centre for Mundy Pond Park.

The Contractor is working on completing interior finishes and tile work for the pool and associated pool equipment. We are waiting on the arrival of the glass for the sport courts and final sanding and painting of the Gymnasium floor. Furniture for part of the administrative area has been installed on site, and we are awaiting the remaining furnishings for the remainder of the building fit up.

While we still remain behind schedule due to circumstances beyond our control, the Contractor is getting ready to begin the commissioning process in mid-late September. We anticipate that the commissioning process for the building will take approximately 1 month to complete.

The City of St. John's is excited to see this build close to completion. Further information regarding a grand opening for the building will be posted here and, on our website, and social media feeds. We look forward to welcoming everyone to this beautiful new facility!!
