Upgrades are happening at the Kilbride Community Centre during the Summer 2021! Staff have identified the key improvements that will enhance the existing amenities and make the space more community, family-friendly, bright, and colourful. One particular amenity that will undergo changes is the skatepark. Staff have identified this as a great space for fun interactive, accessible games for residents of Kilbride. The skatepark pieces would be relocated to other city parks and there is another skatepark 1 km away from the Kilbride Community Centre. Check out the details below and leave your feedback or sign up for a virtual public session.

The City of St. John’s is planning improvements to the Kilbride Community Centre and playground area. Improvements include new swings, landscaping, additional community gardens, and a new basketball net. As the current skatepark adjacent to the baseball field is underutilized, a proposal is being considered to re-locate skate park equipment and replace it with family-friendly and interactive games such as Four Square, Hopscotch, Snakes and Ladders and an obstacle course.

It is important to note that the Huck Williams skatepark on Chafe's Lane is located within one kilometer of the Community Center and offers an alternative location for skateboarding.

Residents are encouraged to provide feedback on the proposed changes. Feedback is being collected on this site through the comments section below and the two quick polls. Other ways to participate include:

The deadline to provide feedback is Sunday, June 6.
