Consultation has concluded

Galway Village Green Phase 1 - Playground Development began with a public RFP to hire a Landscape Architect in Summer 2021. The project was awarded in August 2021 and the consultant prepared tenders for public clearing and grubbing of the site as well as a topographic survey to aid in the Detailed Design Development which commenced in Fall 2021.

The Construction Tender has been awarded to Can-Am Platforms and construction commenced end of June 2022. The project will be completed in Spring 2023.

The Phase 1 development includes the following amenities: construction of a fully accessible 6500SF playground, a large multi-purpose court, a small picnic area, trails and pathways, landscaping, benches and seating, and a dedicated parking area.

Future phases of the development will include the following amenities: a splashpad, washrooms, maintenance shed, a community garden, a terraced garden, a pavilion, a large open green space, a social gathering area, a large picnic area, a viewing platform, and a seating area to overlook an engineered wetland. Further development of landscaping, park seating, pathways, and trails to provide connectivity to other amenities is planned for the area.
