50 International Place

The City has received an application to rezone 50 International Place from the Open Space (O) Zone to the Commercial Highway (CH) Zone to accommodate a Place of Worship. A Municipal Plan amendment is required to redesignate the property from the Open Space District to the Commercial District. An amendment to the St. John's Urban Region Regional Plan is also required.
The applicant is proposing to consolidate 40 and 50 International Place into one lot with two places of worship. The existing church at #40 will remain. The new building will be 874 square metres.
The Virginia River Trail and floodplain runs between the two properties. A floodplain study is currently underway. Upon completion of this study, revisions to the site plan will be required.
