Impeding Access

My husband and I were on Water Street Friday evening (after the Mall had closed for the season) and were dismayed to see a lot of bars/ restaurants had placed placard on the sidewalks in the area between their storefront and the parkades they had built (we had not visited the Mall this summer due to concerns we had over the spread of Covid-19).

This must be extremely frustrating for our fellow citizens who have mobility issues - why are business allowed to deliberately impede access? I have no mobility issues myself but have heard numerous complaints from those who do that once again this year accessibility was an issue with the Mall.

We have to do better as a city to ensure access for all - there is no need to block sidewalks with signs.
