Traffic Pilot Projects

Veteran's Square - Council received an update at the April 17, 2019 Committee of the Whole meeting regarding the permanent installation of the Veteran’s Square reconfiguration. The project will be permanently installed during summer 2019 in conjunction with required street rehabilitation work.

Rawlins Cross Traffic Circle and Ladysmith Drive at Kiwanis Street Crosswalk - A public survey as part of the City’s evaluation of two traffic pilot projects that were implemented in 2018 is now closed. The results of the survey along with technical and observation data will be shared with City Council to inform the evaluation and recommendation on whether the projects should be made permanent.

The City tests traffic solutions around town on a temporary basis. The expectation is that they would reduce speeding, increase safety, and clear up some confusing spots.

Over the course of the trial period, feedback from the public and technical data is collected. This will be combined with public feedback surveys in a report to Council to decide whether or not these pilot projects will become permanent installations.
