Construction Continues on Kelly’s Brook Shared-Use-Path (SUP)

Construction on Phase 1A Kelly’s Brook SUP between Carpasian Road and Guy Street, which began on November 6, 2023, is nearing completion with electrical lighting and pedestrian signals anticipated to be completed in October 2024.

Construction on Phase 1C Kelly's Brook SUP between Guy Street and Columbus Drive began on October 16, 2024 in the vicinity of Stamps Lane, and is anticipated to carryover into the 2025 construction season. Work for this 2024 season is expected to occur along portion of Kelly's Brook SUP from Stamps Lane through Wishingwell Park, and along Guy Street. Other sections between Columbus Drive and Guy Street will occur in the 2025 construction season.

This multi-year construction project began in October 2023 and is anticipated to be completed in 2025. Future phases will see construction on section from Bannerman Road to Carpasian Road. The project involves upgrading a disconnected gravel trail to a continuous paved shared-use path with lighting and improved street crossings.

Kelly’s Brook Trail will remain open to pedestrian traffic during construction. Portions of the trail may be diverted and/or detoured at times to facilitate construction work. Traffic delays and lane reductions are also expected throughout the project at locations where Kelly’s Brook Trail crosses City streets. These disruptions will be communicated throughout the project.
